Country Pie

Ingredients

 

The Crust

The Filling

½ 8-ounce can (1/2 cup) Hunt’s Tomato Sauce

1 1/3 cups Minute Rice

½ cup bread crumbs

1 ½ 8-ounce cans (1 ½ cups) Hunt’s Tomato Sauce

¼ cup chopped onion

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

1 ½ teaspoons salt

1 cup water

1/8 teaspoon pepper

½ teaspoon salt

1 pound ground beef

 

¼ cup chopped green pepper

 

1/8 teaspoon oregano

 

 

To Prepare…

 

1.       Combine all crust ingredients and mix well.

2.       Pat meat mixture into a greased 9 inch pie pan.

3.       Combine rice, tomato sauce, salt, water and ¼ cup of cheese (from filling list).

4.       Spoon rice mixture into meat shell.

5.       Cover with foil.

6.       Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

7.       Uncover and sprinkle top with remaining cheese.

8.       Return to oven and bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes longer.

 

Notes: Makes 4 to 5 servings
